![]() AVIATION EYE EXAMINATIONS The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) promotes aviation safety through stringent regulations and by encouraging all related industry members to maintain high safety standards. Dean has undertaken further studies to become qualified to conduct vision and eye examinations for the purposes of pilot licensing on the behalf of CASA. As a CASA credentialed optometrist in Brisbane, Dean is able to service those requiring Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 aviation licences. WHAT TO EXPECT All aviation eye examinations take 60 minutes and require your pupils to be dilated. The examination will include a thorough assessment of your vision, eye co-ordination, posterior eye health, and visual fields. As your pupils will be dilated following the examination, care must be taken not to drive for 2 hours following the appointment, therefore alternative transport arrangements may be required.
