A comprehensive eye examination may detect a problem with the function of the binocular system of a child or adult. The binocular system is able to be trained and brought back to a normal state by following specific vision exercises. This practice has expertise in treating convergence insufficiency, eye tracking anomalies and large phorias (eyes that may cross or move outward when tired). At this practice, we provide customised vision training to many age groups. We have had success treating young school age children, young adults, and computer screen based workers.
Vision therapy consists of specific eye exercises that are designed to improve eye coordination, eye focussing, and eye tracking skills. We can also provide assessment and therapy of visual processing functions. Visual processing assessments are typically done at a separate visit, when clinically deemed necessary, and are charged privately with no medicare rebate being available.
