AHLEM was launched in 2014 by Paris-born, Los Angeles-based designer Ahlem Manai-Platt.

Rigorous attention to detail, insistence on exceptional materials, commitment to sustainable methods, and an abiding obsession with arts and culture combine to inform AHLEM’s vision. The timeless applications of early 20th century Bauhaus design principles are of particular resonance and serve as a consistent aesthetic reference.

Each pair of AHLEM glasses tells a story of artisanal expertise: Throughout production, glasses travel to three specialized ateliers and into the hands of nine skilled artisans, each with a particular craft passed down through generations. Maintaining a fierce loyalty to these artisans and preserving their knowledge and traditions is core to our mission.

model: Champ De Mars

Instantly engaging and enduringly chic, Champ de Mars’ substantial frame is finished with subtle details that set it apart: beveled temples that catch the light, a front channel that lends sculptural depth, and AHLEM’s signature Bauhaus triangle in the corners. A narrower keyhole bridge offers an easy fit for a range of faces.

model: Segur

With its wide boulevard and stands of plane trees, the verdant Avenue Ségur is one of Ahlem Manai-Platt’s favorite neighborhood streets. This effortless frame captures the same sense of nonchalant beauty, with soothing curves rendered in substantial 8mm acetate, raw-cut for a precise, matte definition.
